I have the privilege of having a Guest spot in Jeannie Dukic's of http://site.jkdjewelry.com/blog/ Echo Creative Club for the month of June. Jeannie sent me a really beautiful Gin Blossom bead
My part was to design something using this wonderful polymer clay bead. I had many ideas rolling around in my head but I really wanted to do something that would really complement the focal and still keep it as the center point. I finally decided to bead weave doing a dutch spiral. I LOVE how it turned out. I made the clasp using a Vintaj ring that I embellished and peyote tube.
The weave is more open as it approached the focal point.
I am very glad that I was able to be a part of the Echo Creative Club. It was really so much fun and I love the end result. Please visit all the other Echo Creative Club members blogs to see their creations with Jeannie's beads.

What a piece of art! A perfect match! Truly a beautiful piece!!
ReplyDeleteI love what you've done - You've chosen beautiful green, brown, and cream beads that perfectly complement the flower focal, and the open spiral is also perfect for your design. Very nice! (and it really pops on that brown background!)
ReplyDeleteahhh you're killing me. This is mind blowing gorgeous. I think this is the first time I've ever seen the dutch sprial and it is amazing. I admire those of you who do bead weaving, it is such an art form and so is this necklace. Thank you Sonya so much for being my guest this month.
ReplyDeleteThis is really pretty, what a beautiful job...love the bead weaving and the pendant. They are perfect together.
ReplyDeleteYep I am blown away too! This is gorgeous and I love how you pulled the colors into your spiral!
ReplyDeleteSonya, I'm gonna have to go with Jeannie on this one ... mind blowing gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteOkay now this is AMAZING! WOW the details...I would love to learn to do bead weaving once my littlest ones are a few years older...the thought of cleaning up a spilled pile of seed beads right now keeps me from pursuing my interest in it! LOL Your work is spectacular!
ReplyDeletesonya, welcome to the club! love that dutch spiral! totally impressive. and that gin blossom is sooo luscious! you showed it off beautifully.
ReplyDeleteWow! Your bead weaving is amazing! The necklace is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteHoly crap that is one amazing piece! I don't know how you girls do it with all those tiny beads but it i spectacular to look at!
ReplyDeleteOh, wow, you matched them perfectly - lovely!
ReplyDeleteThat is stunning! I adore the dutch spiral, it is a perfect complement to the pendant. Your color choices are spot on as well!
ReplyDeleteThat is beautiful, and compliments the Gin blossom perfectly.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great piece. I love what you did with your focal. I've have yet to learn dutch spiral but this is one of those stitches that I would like to learn. Also what a clever way to do the ending. I have the exact same vintaj piece and I would never have thought to do what you did with it. I love that. Would love to know how you got that started. The colors you used were awesome as well. Great job.
ReplyDeleteWow! This necklace is just flat out gorgeous!
